Security forces killed five terrorists and injured four others during an intelligence-based operation in the Palantak area of Washuk district in Balochistan, officials said, in action carried out under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3.
According to security sources, the operation targeted terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan, and their hideouts were engaged during the raid. A cache of modern weapons and ammunition was recovered from the killed terrorists, including an RPG-7 launcher and rounds, five advanced weapons with magazines, three mobile phones and two motorcycles. The sources said the terrorists had been involved in looting local Baloch people, spreading fear and harassment, and damaging infrastructure.
President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces for the successful operation, saying that effective actions against terrorist elements trying to disturb peace and spread fear in Balochistan would continue, and that operations would be carried on until law and order was fully restored.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the forces, saying the recovery of modern weapons reflected the gravity of the challenge, and that the ongoing successful operations demonstrated the nation’s unwavering resolve against terrorism. He said the entire nation stood with the security forces and that operations would continue with full force until terrorism was completely eliminated from the country.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the professionalism and resolve of the personnel who took part in the operation. “We are proud of the brave personnel of the security forces who foiled the nefarious designs of Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists,” he said, adding that the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in the fight against terrorism.
Security sources said the forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism from Balochistan, and that operations will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
