Security forces have killed 11 militants in separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, security sources said, as operations against militant groups continue in the country’s northwest and southwest.
According to the sources, the militants were described as India-backed, and a large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered during the actions. The hideouts of “Fitna al-Khawarij” were destroyed in South Waziristan, the sources added.
The operations come as Pakistan continues to press its counter-terrorism campaign, particularly in districts of KP bordering Afghanistan, where attacks on security personnel and civilians have been a recurring concern.
Officials say the state remains determined to eliminate militant networks and their facilitators. The latest operations follow a series of intelligence-based actions in recent weeks in which security forces targeted militant sanctuaries in difficult terrain.
